After having heard the demo 570S it was a must have for my own car. Granted it was more so for the sound but i feel pretty disappointed that there is no power gain at all and the weight saving is a mere 100g!!. Pretty much half a chicken breast. Surely a sports exhaust is classed/defined as a performance enhancing modification?? Any exhaust i have had wether its a Tubi for a Lamborghini or a Capristo for a F430 all offered a decent gain in power and a substantial weight saving into the KG's. That and the are usually a work of art and half the price. I can't help but feel deflated that all 3 boxes are not ticked. I have never seen a sports exhaust for any supercar that does not have a power increase

So tell me what exactly does the up-to-7-hp-gain implied by their website for their standard unit feel like ? How much difference does the (approx) 1 % make ? My understanding has always been just because it sounds louder and costs more doesn't make the car faster

I think the point here is "claimed" increase, very few sports exhausts offer any increase unless the manifolds cats and silencers are changed.

7bhp is still a power increase compared to zero and the capristo is a fair bit lighter than a standard exhaust. Looking at other 570s exhausts from AWE and Larini and Fabspeeds exhaust which offers a 3.6kg weight saving over Mclarens 100 gram.

I appreciate some figures are nothing more than just "claims" although generally with cars around 500bhp or more a sports exhaust can offer a decent gain. I had enquired about Lamborghinis factory Race exhaust for our Huracan which offers 5% more bhp 5% more torque and 10% weight saving.

Send back Mclaren exhaust, save 3k
Order larini, 800 quid
Get remap from elite to 620bhp 800quid
Spend 1400 on petrol

Job done 😬😬😬
