I think it looks too big for an Austin 7.

Going by the wheels, I wonder if it started life as a pre-war Ford Ten.

That's my first thought, looking at the wheels. It's big enough to be V8 based.

The Marendaz looks fairly similar, although I expect it is a home-built special

The odd thing is that the special's radiator cowl has a pronounced vee on top to cover the radiator cap, which is further back than it would be on a Bentley or similar. This would be an expensive item to produce for a bespoke car, so I wonder if it's off a donor?
