I need some new tyres on my 2007 MY DB9, I'm going to go for Michelin PSS, can anyone recommend a good tyre fitting place in Bristol that will give me a good price & do a good job without damaging the wheels etc?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

I used Dick Lovett in Swindon for mine (Ferrari Maserati dealer), they were competitive and did a great job. Given Dick Lovett have just opened AM Bristol worth giving them a call?

Thanks Hashluck, not sure I want to use them, as I am not very happy with them at the moment, I had the car serviced by them yesterday, On collection they presented me with advisories of £5.1k on my car, which has only done 17k miles from new (2007 MY)!!!!.
They tell me the shock absorbers are leaking & need replacing, cost £4600, I am in a state of shock & confused, the car was MOT'd 5 weeks ago, done 170 miles since, passed no issues & no advisories, so I am upset & confused.

Sounds very high price to change shock absorbers to me & is a no goer for me.

Thanks Steve

I source my tyres online, have them delivered to Bamford Rose and they fit them.

Sounds like you could do with a trip to see someone for a second opinion anyway, so I'd kill two birds.

I ordered my CL500 tyres online and had them fitted by Kwik Fit without any issues. Would def do the same again.

You were very lucky then.

Did they not even try their trick, "You need new brake pads and discs Sir, and we can fit those now"?

I knew the pads were only 30% worn (not my AM of course), so have never been near those cowboys since.

Protyre are good. You can usually negotiate a bit off as well.

Just fitted 4 new PSS on my 2007 DB9. Bought them from MyTyres.co.uk for £802 and had them delivered to my local trustworthy fitter who balanced and fitted them. (And gave the alloys a good clean and polish while the tyres were off).

Then off to Southampton for a full Geo and alignment check. (No point putting new tyres on if things are not lined up properly.

I need two new rear tyres and actually found asda tyres to be the cheapest to deliver and arrange fitment. I was going for some Pirellis. I know everyone has personal preference, but I found these to be a good compromise.

50 miles from you but after a recommendation from a fellow PH'er here I used Stuart at ATS Cardiff for my rear PSS. He was SO on it and knew about the TPMS, proper jacking points etc Even let me clean the calipers as he went.

I had an advisory on one front shock from MD once but it then went on to pass 2 MOT's and with no advisories on next service. Dont worry too much, get an Indie opinion, and find out who makes them for Aston meantime maybe?

If you do decide to change a failing damper at least consider moving to switchable suspension. So far as I'm aware BR is your option there. It'll probably be less than £4600 and is far better than the stock setup.
No way would I change one damper, I'd do both on the same axle as a minimum (actually they're all old, I'd change the lot).

We had switchable fitted to ours two years ago and the additional flexibility it brings in motorway/hooning is brilliant.

It's up there going fully adaptive at the moment which will further improve things.

Worth mentioning that ours is also MY2007 albeit a V8V. We paid to have all the bushes changed last year as well as it was getting distinctly clonky around the front end. Dunno what the state of your bushes will be at such low mileage but the material is likely to have deteriorated to some degree in the last 9/10 years.
