Fast idle

I have an exhaust leak somewhere , would this cause high idle ?

I very much doubt it.
First move is to get RoverGauge on it and see what the idle system is doing.

Sure its an exhaust leak, as you have not been able to track it down. Perhaps its a induction leak which would cause the high idle ?

I do get a loud pop from somewhere underneath in between gear changes from underneath .
