Hi all

I have had an issue when starting up the car when it will not engage reversse gear. A fault is displayed on the dash "Transmission Emergency Run". When I switch the engine off and then restart it the problem rectifies its self. This has happen twice now in the past six weeks. Is this a known problem, or would it worth booking the car in to a dealer to have it checked out?

Many thanks

John

Yours is an early PDK like mine. I had judder on take off and took it to OPC who upgraded the software. Do you have any evidence in the service history that the software is not the first version?

You can take your pick of faulty sensor, low voltage, software or defective gearbox. Software update or re-flash must be worth a go.

There is an update to the early PDK boxes, has it had it's PDK fluid change (6 Year Point) done yet? If not get them to do it at the same time (along with the service - sometimes the Sump needs changing too). Also heard of faulty temperature sensors in them but only a couple.

Hi all

Thank you for the replies.

The car has a full main dealer service history. Furthermore, Is there anyway I can check the PDK software version? Let's hope it's nothing worse than a faulty sensor. In addition, can anyone advise when the PDK oil needs changing.

Many thanks

Just noted that, 2008/09 cars state 12 years whilst 2010 onward chassis ones state 6 months for the (PDK) clutch oil.

Hi all

Just an update. My battery has failed this week so therefore it is quite likely this was the cause of the warning light.

Regards

John
