They say things come in 3's, and after an injury free few years my third injury to affect my running recently is a very sore achilles.

It was possibly brought on by a particular pair (well pairs) of trainers, so going back to trusted Adios Boosts for now. No particular increase in mileage or duration (1-2 marathons or ultras a month, typically 70-100 miles per week with the odd easy week in there too).

I have been doing some fairly major home DIY/construction, so might have damaged it doing that but don't recall any trauma type injury.

Other than rest, anybody got any experience of miracle cures that worked for them? Dropping from 70+ mile weeks to very little is not at all good for my waistline!

Defo go and see a physio. That is some serious monthly mileage and you want to be sure what you are dealing with and recover properly

I know this is a very black and white answer I reckon there is only one thing that actually works and "cures" it,see a physio who has shockwave therapy equipment it will cost around £200 per session you have 3 sessions a week apart then it will take up to 3 months to work..it does work .Far better than having loads of physio spending fortunes and weeks and getting nowhere
