This years classic shows AP vs NEC

Evening all. Interested in going to one of these this year however only have experience of the nec one and this was 20 years ago.

With my 5 year old in tow (he loves cars the more the better) which would you recommend?

The NEC show claims to be bigger but presume Alexandra palace has its qualities too. Prices are the same give or take and so are logistics getting there from where I live.

NEC is a much bigger show than AP with a lot more to see. I go to the NEC every year, I've been to the recent AP show once and wouldn't bother again...

There was a PHSS for the Haymarket run Ally Pally show so some of us got in free and got good parking.

Not sure if this going to happen this year.

I hope it will,I like free stuff.

Agree though NEC much bigger.

The NEC is a huge international event over five or six halls.
In comparison, Ally Pally is just a local show, not helped by the existence the rival London Classic Car Show at Excel.
No contest.

aP not worth the journey - I only went as its 2 miles from me, not sure I'll bother this year as I was done there in 45 mins

Went to both the AP and NEC shows last year and doing the same again this year. Loved the AP show - some very exclusive stuff there, great lighting and the whole place felt like a really classy top-drawer classic car showroom. The catering was good too with plenty of space to sit down. The NEC show is much larger, with a lot more to see, but the lighting is relatively poor and it just doesn't have the high end ambience of the AP show. I'd recommend experiencing both and then making your own choice.
