Octavia Mk3 VRS TDI - Which Gearbox?

Hi guys,

Just wondered if anyone on here has any opionions on the best gearbox for the Skoda Octavia Mk3 VRS TDI?

I have had a drive of the DSG box and loved it, however not many of these appear within my budget. I have only ever had manuals and I'm not sure if the DSG was a novelty, and I guess by the time I have chosen, I will have to live with it in any case.

Any thoughts folks?

The DSG 'box is superb and really suits the 2.0 TDI very well. It's smooth and makes the full power band easily accessible. If out of budget I'd be more tempted to drop to a DSG 150 rather than a Manual 184

Most reviews I've read in past few days (and I've been through a lot) are not too complimentary about the DSG with the diesel. Most seem to say the manual is better suited, and you get better economy. Guess it depends on nature of driving

Well I drove the manual VRS today and loved it, felt so much more connected and responsive. So much so I placed my deposit, did a deal and collect next weekend
