Interesting business!
I'm guessing it will be valued at £600k but really don't know what they are worth these days !

It was the ex-Cathal Curley 2.7 Carrera RS Lightweight.

The Owner, a specialist in classic car forensic services, made a big point of showing his hardware which provides "the only comprehensive professional Classic Car Forensic Service for the scanning of Vehicle Identification numbers, supplying high quality detailed images on and below the surface of the metal up to 0.6mm deep of the stamping of a VIN Number and surrounding areas" which made me chuckle as (according to his LinkedIn page):-
The car has been reissued a missing ID Plate by Porsche AG Germany confirming in writing all criteria were met in full during the process and the current Managing Director of Porsche Cars Great Britain wrote a personal letter and the Register Secretary of the Porsche Club Great Britain to the DVLA supporting the reallocation of its Irish number AUI 1500 when it won the rallies in 1974.

(yes I know this isn't the stamped-in VIN)

Reshelled no doubt
Cars that get bashed the way this car has, don't stay straight forever
Think of twisting an emptyCoke can 15mm backwards and forwards for two minutes.
Porsche have issued a vin no.

I don't think I've ever known of a car with a sales pitch filled with such hyperbole-
A Eurovision winner wrote a song about it?
It recently did a tour of all the winning podiums from 1974?
On show at OPC Guildford?

Compared to originality lots of things that are basically completely irrelevant when parting with several hundred grand-

I think it's fair to say that Mark has a way with words biggrin
It's a nice car, but looks just like any other RS to me. I don't really get the hype thing about the pedigree of historics. It's all well and good, but does nothing for me!
