Bmw gsm phone

I posted a thread a while back but i just thought i would try again.
I have got an 97 e39 540 with the built in bmw gsm phone and just wondered how to get it working and can i buy a pay as you go sim card and put that in there, i dont really mind what i do as long as it works .

Any suggestions?

O2 and Vodafone are the only ones that work from memory.

And you need to leave the Sim in the big credit card shaped doobery firkin. It slots in under where the phone lives

my 2000 e39 uses a motorola v50, im using a 02 PAYG sim.

is there a way of retrofitting a new arm-rest with built in cradle for nokia phones?

better still, anyone know a place that does it ?!?!
