More questions (3): courtesy switch relay

The tall grey Ford one on the firewall, on a seperate relay box with the hazard/indicator relays and an 'ignition on' relay. What does it do? I've had to rewire the courtesy lights and the corresponding alarm sensor - do I still need the relay? Are my courtesy light switches now switching too big a current?

Does this relay have a Blue/Red wire for the heated mirrors? if so its the timer for the mirrors - disables when door opened. Seems to be normal that the alarm feed for door switch is on this bit of the TVR loom.

Our heaters in the wing mirrors come on and go off with reckless abandon, which we noticed when we got the car the other week. Light comes on every time car is started, and intermittently when driving. Mirror surfaces get warm. Bit concerned about effects on alternator/battery long term.
Never occurred till reading post above, that this may be linked to doors.
Since door closures repaired on friday, the central locking works, as you can hear the click, when the remote fob is operated..... but doesnt actually lock the doors.
And to further complicate things, the central locking dash button does lock them, but when pressed, it clicks, green light shows up, then goes off, repeatedly. You have to wait for it to happen once then release your finger from the button, quickly, while the green light comes on.
Another trip to the Reapair Man? Or could it be a loose wire or relay or fuse?
