Car claim on Public Liability Insurance
Discussion
Bit of a strange one, a model aircraft was crashed into my car today, by a member of a flying club. If I make a claim on their public liability insurance for the damage (new windscreen and possible front corner repaint), do I have to inform my insurers? As I'm not sure if it will count as a motor insurance claim.
Will be speaking to their insurers tomorrow to find out their process, and mine in due course afterwards if needed.

Tell them and your policy premium will go up.
It`s not motoring claim so just claim from them and tell your own insewerance company nowt.
OP, on your next renewal, your insurer will ask whether you have had any accidents, claims or suffered any loss, irrespective of blame. It`s not motoring claim so just claim from them and tell your own insewerance company nowt.
What will you tell them?

A plane crashed into my car, but the third party repaired it.

Insurers might try for 50/50 claiming that if your car hadn't been parked where it was then the model aircraft wouldn't have crashed into it

EDITED TO ADD: "did you have a dashcam fitted"?
