Penny pinching Porsche

I was in the dealership a couple of weeks ago speccing up my wife’s Macan and noticed that the side of the seat bolster adjacent to the centre console was cloth rather than the leather that the rest of the seat is covered with.
On checking my CGTS this part of the seat is also cloth. Not visible obviously but annoying on 60k+ vehicles.
My old 997 was not like this, nor is my friend’s 987. It seems that the accountants are having too much say in things.

A number of car manufacturers do this. I think it is more to do with leather squeaking on centre console than penny pinching as it can touch in certain positions and with heavy drivers. Or perhaps I should lose weight

Our FFRR has a couple of non squeaking details so I would be surprised if these FFRRs were the only ones....

As others have said, not penny pinching at all. Stops squeaking/rubbing between seat and centre console. Our RRS has alcantara patches. Thoughtful, neat solution.
