Afternoon everyone!
Just joined and thought I'd tell you all about my Civic.
It's a 2005 EP3 with 109k on the clock and it's use is primarily as a track car but with the intention of staying road legal.
I bought it for £3k on Dec 31st 2015 and have loved every second of it. It was completely standard when I got it, and had the following mods now:

Cobra Monaco seats
Sparco 4 point road harnesses
Tegiwa harness bar
Stripped out rear
Tegiwa M cold air induction
Tegiwa strut brace (waste of money but shiney)
Tegiwa engine torque damper
MTEC dimples and grooved disks front and back
HEL braided brake hoses
Front callipers painted red
Front Ferodo DS2500 pads
Rear Brembo OEM pads
Tegiwa cat-back exhaust (worth every single penny)
Full underbody waxoyl for piece of mind.
TDi North sun strip.

Wish list is for
Ebiach 30mm lowering springs
JDM or Tegiwa rear ARB
TDi North custom map on a K100 after I've put in a decat centre section and possibly an M2 intake manifold.
Federal RSRs all round

I've done a few track days now and love the car to bits. Gives so much feedback and confidence to push to what I feel is the limit. All big jobs have now ceased for a while as I have just put in an order for a Mk3 Focus RS so it will only be essential repairs and servicing now as I save up.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy my piccies!

So a first time poster (presumably) comes on and tells us a bit about what is obvs his pride and joy, posts some pics and that's the first response he gets?

Well done, give yourself a pat on the back.

OP: Nice car, fellow EP3 owner here. (go find my thread of woe!)

Are you keeping the EP3 when the FRS arrives? If so, it would be interesting to hear how the two cars fare against each other (or perhaps, rather more accurately, by how much the FRS is better in every way hehe )

looking good mate. Still the best colour IMO. I have an almost identical mileage EP3 in the same colour. Stock apart from Skunk2 gear knob, Eibach 20mm springs, DMR rear camber arms and a Fast Road setup. You think your car handles well now, its a whole new level with FRS. Cracking cars for the money!

Thanks for the love guys!
I'll be keeping the EP3 until it dies! I'm not sure how long it will be until my testicles allow me to take the FRS on track so will be using the EP3 to scratch that particular itch. But that car is 12 months away so who knows what will happen between now and then. I agree completely that the RSs will be better in every way and in my opinion, each RS has been better than it's opposite Type R, but the key difference being cost! I would absolutely LOVE a Mk1 RS but at £10k vs £3k for an EP3, it's a no brainier.
The engine bay is flattered by the photo! It's nowhere near as clean as it looks!
I fully intend to get a FRSU. When I lower it, I'll do camber arms and bolts too. It's handleing was a little odd last week at Oulton. I was pushing harder than I have done before, and found the back end strangely light despite trail breaking. Not a lift off OS type of feeling. I'm putting it down to having decent front tyres (Toyo Proxes) and cack Avon ones on the rear!

Thats some sticky track tyres you have there!! hehe

As above poster said, we all know the fastest EP3 is the Cosmic Grey though? wink

I believe they are pretty hard to kill, mine has only done about 70k miles now though. Enjoy the car on track!

Looks really good, pretty much exactly the same as mine visual wise (Although mine is standard).

Have you considered getting a baffled sump? Oil starvation seems to be a bit of a concern when on track in these.

Welcome to PH mate. Car looks great.

I've got a prefacelift in Milano which is supercharged, have a look at my thread if you want to see how to waste a lot of money on an EP3 hehe

Best modification I did to my EP3 was a LSD. Made a massive difference, especially on track.

I'd also echo the baffled sump if running sticky tyres on track.

Absolutely agree with the baffled sump! I'd actually built it into the price of the RSR tyres last time I costed them up.
I'd love an LSD but it's such as big cost. If I do go down that route, I'll probably wait until such a time that the gearbox is out for something else.

I coincided its fitting with a new clutch and lighter flywheel. Made sense to get it all done together.

Love your car mate, but I am a little biased!

I purchased JDM version last week, already has a cage fitted and a modification list as long as my arm!

Planning on doing some endurance racing with it and do the odd track day. But first there are a few things to do, new rotors and pads up front, change all the fluids, some sticky rubber, likely some R888's amd some rear camber arms, it has a set of BC Gold coilovers on all 4 corners yet to be set up properly.

Looking forward to using it in anger!

What wheel alignment settings are you using if you dont mind me asking?
