Everything is sh*te
Discussion
Recently I have been struggling to listen to people. Not only ones in my life but at work and in general, including strangers. It just seems that people are either pushing their own agendas or waffling mundane verbal dung.
Nearly everyone is included here and as soon as they start talking I just think "What a load of boring old s
te" Most of the threads on here are just inane drivel (including this probably)
My so called friends are starting to piss me off with either A; The trying to be different mentality or B; The social status climbing and treating life like a competition. The whole lot reeks of s
t and I cannot be arsed listening to it. The TV is s
t. All of it, including adverts. `Buy this cream or you`ll be ugly`, `Use this disinfectant or your baby will fall ill`, `Have you been in an accident?` All s
te. The internet is full of conflicting s
t. Google a sore leg and you have 2 weeks to live.
I hardly talk to anyone about anything to avoid listening to complete and utter s
te stories. It seems the British way is to piss on each others chips and point score. This isn't a rant, this is how I genuinely feel.
Anyone in the same boat? No doubt there will be smartarse answers here, after all it is PH so tin hat on.

Yeah. Felt the same way in the past occasionally.
Seemed to go away somewhat after I had a daughter to care for. After that I stopped giving a f
k about everything else except my relationship with her
Get away by yourself for a bit. Be it UK or abroad. Perhaps go to Europe or something. I guess since you're on PH you've got a motor, drive that somewhere decent if you can.

I did. I went to Switzerland last week. S hittiest break ever. The Swiss totally f
k me off with their "Everything is better in Switzerland" spiel as well as `Special` being mentioned every second sentence. I was accused of being a `culinary low flier` because I was British and we "don't appreciate good food". All because I didn't fancy the Polenta when looking through the menu in a restaurant.Really should have stuck one on the prick but it wouldn't have been the right thing to do.

Some of you guys sound like you might be suffering from mental illness. If you can't find happiness in anything around you, either force yourself to do some exercise or an activity you actually enjoy. If that doesn't work, perhaps visit a GP.
I just think some guys are like this. Myself not one for lots of dinners out and outings with the family, work on my own etc etc. Self sufficient, if you like. And I do tons of exercise and I am in good shape. Too many people in this world have been nanny cultured and rely on others, hence the constant venting. You're right and this is perfectly normal. I can strongly recommend reading this book http://goo.gl/UbHpHy just to reaffirm your normal-ness.
Must admit I find the standpoint of some of you slightly strange. When people tell me stuff that they've done, I don't want to hear about the routine stuff, I want to know about the special stuff. I don't see it as point scoring, or showing off - it's stuff that makes them happy. They are my friends, so them being happy makes me happy. An example - if someone goes running, then that's mildly interesting. If someone does a marathon, that's a lot more interesting. If they do a marathon and a PB, or beat their target time, or raise x for charity, that's even more interesting.
I'd simply not see that sort of thing as negative, or s
te. I don't see someone working hard and getting a promotion, or a new house as just pointless social climbing (unless they're being a horrible social climber a la Hyacinth Bucket etc).
Must dash, I have an itchy temple. Better get it checked out as it's probably a tumour =)

Quite normal. I feel this way all the time. It's why I do less and less 'socialising' these days and mostly prefer my own company. I simply cannot be doing with it, and whereas previously I'd go along with it and feign interest, I no longer have the patience and will just come across like a grumpy old man so I stay out of it all unless I really have to.Nearly everyone is included here and as soon as they start talking I just think "What a load of boring old s
