[ANSWERED] reimage malware ?

Does PH have a problem last week logged on via a relatives laptop started getting random pages open pop up adverts & also a reimage page stating computer infected etc free health check, when trying to close spoken warning & other malware signs etc. trying to close variations of the above description just come up again. Laptop unusable had to be 'crashed' to even turn off.

Took laptop to shop £60 to get cleaned & usable again. Blamed relative for not keeping security up to date although assured they did checked defender & internet security switched on etc everything did seem ok. 2 Days later same problem back to shop luckily the bloke cleaned again for free but said must be going to dodgy sites or previous music downloads although could not confirm.

This morning back home using my laptop thought I would risk looking at PH. first thing nothing else before. opened PH. page ok but as soon as I logged in my defender warned malware detected automatic removal. as I clicked on forum malware detected automatic removal. So think I'm luckier than relative as laptop seems ok.

Hmm, not that I'm aware of - we did have a dodgy advert a few weeks back but it was killed ASAP. I'll ask the tech guys to look into it straight away.

Hi there,

The tech guys haven't uncovered anything untoward and we haven't had any other reports of this happening so we are struggling to come up with an answer right now I'm afraid. We'll keep monitoring it and please do let us know the details if you have any further suspicious stuff happening.
