Hi all, just thought I'd say hello. I'm the proud owner of a new Exige, which I took delivery of last Friday. I can't believe how much fun I'm having and that's less than a week into the running in period.

I've been a Pistonheads member for a while and have spent most of my time on the cerbera forum, but after five and a half years of Cerbie ownership, I decided it was time for a change...

I've been reading about the "rattle" in other threads - my car seems to have something very similar, which B&C will hopefully sort out when I get the first service done.

A long shot I know, but if anyone has access to Orange Alcantara (or indeed Orange leather) please let me know as I'm trying to track some down for the seats.

Cheers
Graham

Hi Graham, I'm a new Exige owner too - picked mine up first thing in the new year. Mine's just had its first service - if you think it's fun now wait until you can use full revs!

The only issue with mine has been the roof panel creaking over bumpy roads which was fixed by the dealer (Merritts of Amersham) at the first service. So far pretty impressed with Lotus build quality (touching wood now!), while the driving experience is utterly superb.

Next upgrade for me is a bit of driver training!

Welcome Graham!

I too am a new Exige owner. It's getting its first service this Saturday. Can't wait!!

I too have a couple of rattles, nothing serious though as usually I can't hear it (sports exhaust!). Boy, is it fun to drive though!!!

Tim.

Hi Graham.

Try speaking to Geary at Eliseparts.com They do re trims in alcantara so may know of suppliers who have orange. Either that or try Hangar 111 who also have a re trim service.

You may also want to consider some dark shades to protect your eyes as your car sounds like it is going to pretty extreme colour wise

I'm really getting jelous of all these newbies with their S2 Exiges

Thanks for the welcome guys. Glad to see that there are a few other newbies around.

FWIW Having seen what B&C have done to their current demonstrator it inspired me to go for some extra orange. So, on the interior - the transmission tunnel and the centre of the steering wheel are both colour coded. Externally - the sidepods and front lip are also orange. Hope these kind of changes aren't heresy (I guess they don't add extra weight), but they work for me.

Topcat, I'd love to post some pics - I took the car out to Chobham Common for photos the morning after I picked it up - but have never mastered this particular black art. I'll see what I can do.

p.s. Continuing with the colour theme, the internal display is backlit in orange, but, if you have the Blaupunkt car radio, it comes with a blue display which is very irritating, especially the reflection back on to the windscreen at night. I discovered yesterday that you can actually change the colour of the Blaupunkt display from blue to...well, orange.

You guys are just mean! Having to read all about your experiences with your new Exiges. Have some consideration for others!

Although my dealer is just as bad, went in to sign my life away and he offers to show me my soon to be pride and joy. Then he hands me the keys.... I could not resist I just had to start her up.
Oooooh!!!!
Thankyou stage 2 sports exhaust and Pipper induction kit. It sounds soooo good especially as you turn it off and you get tssssssssss from the induction kit. The start of a beautiful relationship!

Oh well only 2233911 seconds to go till I get the keys
2233910, 2233909..........................

Graham, welcome to the mate.

Take your pics and load up to your PC. Then visit http://photos.fotango.com and get yourself an account. Load up your pics to a new folder and then click on "Get a link to my photo" for each one you want to show on here. Then take that URL and cut/paste into your post in between [pic] and [/pic] which will display the pic of your p&j thus:
