Speedo connections

Can anyone confirm the speedo wiring? There are evidently two types (old and new). My speedo has the 4 wire connection... All of the gauge connections shown on my wiring harness sheet were incorrect, and I was directed by the factory to use the VDO instructions.

I have followed the instructions from VDO, but I still can't get a speedo reading, and I suspect it isnt connected properly. The instructions say to connect the black lead on the speedo to the shielded wire AND the ground. The shielded wire is tied into a ground fly lead in the wiring harness.

I do have the dip switches set correctly. I am taking the speedo sensor from the transaxle at 7800 pulses.

Anyway, can anyone with a new style speedo confirm the 4 connections?
