no brake lights on 2007 Vantage

Just discovered that the brake lights on my 2007 Vantage do not work. Tested the brake petal sensor and it was bad, so installed a new one. Hit the brake petal..no lights and it blew the fuse. Any suggestion as to where the root of the problem lies? I believe this also relates to the cruise control not engaging.

Water ingress (seems to be common) in any of the lights might cause the fuse to blow.
