Hi everyone.
This is my first day here.
I've been reading a description of a Rover 45 -2001 made from a Subaru owner that the engine management light came on and has to go to the Mechanic to sort the problem out.
He was given the Rover 45 to drive while the car was fixing.
He said that driving a Rover 45 for 2 weeks was the most painful and ashamed experience of all times to him!!!!!!!
I didn't know that the Rovers have that bad reputation!!!!!!!!!
I had a Rover 75 club for about 6 months and I didn't like it very much because the noises were starting coming from under the bonnet and I sold it but the driving wasn't that bad.
Okay.
Now I sold my Mercedes E 270 CDI - 2003 and bought a Rover 45 2002.
What a change!!!
I just can't have nice cars.
Someone run a key to damage the bodywork. Neighbors I think.

I bought a Rover 45 last weekend test drive it for 10 minutes around a small town at low speed and absolutely no problems.
My wife came with me to drive it home.
The car was okay for about 30 miles than the engine management light came on and the car broke down om motorway M3. What a disaster traffic officers and all the stress that it can generate.
I came back to help check under bonnet the engine was too hot.
After waiting 10 minutes the car starts very normal and runs again as if it nothing happen.
It did run about 5 miles and the management light comes on again. Another 5 minutes waiting and it start again.
I realized that the fan on the cooling wasn't work.
Unplugged the engine from the current and clean a few pins, checked fuses swap them on the engine compartment. pressed the coiling rub tube to make the liquid comes to the cooling thank maybe it helps if there are some debris in the system blocking its flow?!
Okay run the car all the week for work and come home the fan was working.
I thought good the Rover 45 is okay now.
Yesterday went to the road to test drive it with a bit more speed to a 14 miles way town and the car never missed a bit.
When I came back home tried a bit more speed 90 and 3 minutes on that speed the engine management light lights on again and the car stop.
waiting a few minutes the car start again.
There is no water in the oil and no oil in the water.
My question is....

Can you please help if you have been on that situation or if you have any idea about what can it be??!!
Thank you in advance

You need to get a diagnostics reader onto it and see what the ECU is actually complaining about.
