Gotta pair of 18x9" in the garage and can measure.

Yes, you will have to trim the arches.

I run 265mm wide tyres on these.

Ok cheers. Does 'trim' just mean trim or fully cut out the inner arches and re-glass for added clearance? Any pics? hehe

It means trimming just inside the lip of the wheel arch.

If you feel the thickness of the wheel arch lip you will find it is over an inch in thickness. This needs to be trimmed back to about half the thickness.
The fibreglass here is double skinned and when the sliver of of fibreglass is cut away it can be made good with a little fibreglass resin and matting.

It really is an easy job and both arches can be completed within a few hours.

I used something like this specifically for cutting fibreglass. It doesn't revolve, it reciprocates and is very safe to use.

Is the slight rub on the inside or the outside of the tyre?

Well, 38 offset is 5mm further in than the standard 33, so it sounds to me like the tyres are simply too wide for the wheel arches

The tyres may be catching on the outriggers. Lift the car snd see.

Yeah are probably too wide, but thats how i bought them(used), so can live with the very slight rub occasionally

When i need some new rubber ill try a slightly narrower one..

Not catching the outriggers

If it's only slight just raise the rear ride height a tad

And /or add some camber on the rears if it's only just touching.
