Porsche Cayman S / Boxster S or 991
Discussion
Guys
After much thought I have decided to out the Lotus (2013 Elise S) and opt for another Porsche. I have previously owned a 997, 2006 Cayman S but sold them both on as at the time didn't fit the our lifestyle.
We have owned our current Elise S now for a year I have probably covered 1000 miles which is a joke ! I'm also not doing any track days and the lure of another Porsche is very attractive.
I'll probably only cover 3k - 4k a year mostly long distance (100 miles plus) question is which one ?
I really love the look of the new shape Cayman/ Boxster - budget will be around 40k so do I carry on saving another 2 years or opt for either of the above.

Have you driven the 991, 981, 718?After much thought I have decided to out the Lotus (2013 Elise S) and opt for another Porsche. I have previously owned a 997, 2006 Cayman S but sold them both on as at the time didn't fit the our lifestyle.

Within your current budget, only a used 981 will fit unless you have no options at all, then a 718 squeezes in.
As for saving... just go drive all three and see which you prefer. Then you'll have your answer, maybe.

Are they that different from the previous models ? 981 Boxster is the car I'm leaning towards at the moment.Within your current budget, only a used 981 will fit unless you have no options at all, then a 718 squeezes in.

Yup,
Deffo going for a manual regardless, it will need to be the S due to the performance. I'm used to around 250bhp in a lightweight car so I'd get pretty bored otherwise. (previously driven the 2.7)

I've owned a 981 Boxster S PDK and was loaned a 981 Non-S manual for a few days, I think the combo of manual with the S would be great fun - I loved the non S, it was quite a basic car but great. I swapped the 981 for a 991 but only because I needed rear seats. Deffo going for a manual regardless, it will need to be the S due to the performance. That's not an issue we have another car with 5 seats. I'm starting to think either the Cayman or Boxster

I drove PDK Cayman GTS and Boxster Manual GTS, bought the Boxster, Open top Manual experience cannot be beaten imo Boggy
