Errr what frame size is my bike?

I bought my first road bike a couple of years ago and after 6000 miles of all weather comuting and other rides it is showing quite a lot of wear. So I've dicided to get a new bike and keep the old one for winter/bad weather. The problem is I can't remember what frame size I bought. It isn't mentioned on any of the paperwork and the bike itself gives no clues. Any thoughts on how I can determine the size of my current bike? Is it as simple as measing it?

Measure the top tube, seat tube whatever.
Go online to find the size guide for your bike.


Failing that, if you simply read the spec of potential bikes, you can measure your existing one. E.g seat tube length, "reach" (which is how I think of top tube lengths on bikes with different geo - pointless comparing just the length of the tube!).

If your current bike fits you, and you;re happy with it, you have a really good starting point for picking it online. If not, then any decent LBS will help you out.

What bike is it?

Has it got traditional or sloping geometry giving a virtual top tube length?

Measure the seat tube, centre to top and centre to centre, look online and match it up.

It's a Boardman Road Sport.

Probably easiest to Google the bike and measure the head tube. Boardman sizing seemed pretty odd when I was buying a CX.
