Saw this film last night.

Have to say its one of most well-written, moving and hilarious films I've seen for a long time.

Its a brilliant exploration of life, longing and second chances, and anyone in their 30s-40s will really love it.

yes, a great film. it is pure delight - sad/funny/inspiring/thoughtful.

a sad reflection of the modern cinema going audience however and their attention span/patience nowadays though: during first 1hr of film some 12+ people walked out - i guess they were impatient for car chases, guns, sex, cool looking people, etc - i am sure these same people sat all the way through utter dirge like "ocean's 12" - maybe we're just weird, we even enjoyed bill murray in "life acquatic" - another lovely eccentric film.

sideways is on my all time favourites list, for sure.

Its now out on DVD and my Brother bought it for me for my Birthday.

Both my wife and I loved it, its a movie where nothing really happens but you are engrossed all the way through.

It is similar in feel in my opinion to 'Lost in Translation' another drama with moments of comedy.

The lead character is very good.

Superb dynamics between the characters and some truly excellent writing. Didn't expect it to be laugh-out-loud funny but that bit with the car/tree cracked me up completely.

A very, very good film indeed. Loved it at the cinema and have just bought it on DVD too.

I enjoyed the "I'm not drinking Merlot" rant.
