First full production ITG kit fitted to my 111R. Totally impressed with the quality of the components, they are all nickle coated , stainless screws etc etc. Carbon firbre airbox is lovely just a shame it is hidden in the engine bay.

Thanks to everyone at ITG where it was fitted and it was good to see the setup. They make the airfilters for Renault F1.

Anyhow the change is dramatic. At normal revs when pootling in traffic etc its only slightly louder with no harsh noises at motorway speeds. However put your foot down and it's like a different engine, pick up is better and over 5,500 revs it starts to bark turning to a roar when the cam kicks in. Full throttle on cam you can hear the air being dragged into the engine and you can hear the engine working.

Having been a bit of a sceptic on induction kits I must say there are no negatives from this and it has transformed the car to another level. The power increases people quote for kits are sometimes awry however the quoted 10-11bhp although a significent increase certainly feels about right and has been confirmed by seperate rolling road tests.

Not alot more to say other than extremely pleased and impressed.

If you are looking to take your 111R to another plane and appreciate quality engineering this is definately worth considering.

Fish, can you explain how an induction kit works, I'm crap with the mechanical/technical knowledge. If it just makes the engine breath easier, why don't they build them like that?

James here:

Whenyou build a car they have to pass driveby noise tests and emmisions. The airbox taken off has accoustic sound proofing etc. The ITG kit does two things; First it allows the air a direct non choked route to the engine. Secound it smooths the air so it is smooth and stable without vortexes and preasure spots etc.

This allows the engine more cold stable air which the ecu then makes the most of. Having looked at what came off I can totally beleive the engine was being strangled.

I hope that has explained it properly but whatever it does work.

PTP are waiting for their delivery of kits due in a few weeks and you can preorder with them. I'm sure Hanger 111 will no doubt stock at some point so you could have a word with them.
