Replacing 986 seats
Discussion
Apologies if this has been covered before but there seems to be a lot of conflicting advice online.
I'm swapping my standard 986 seats for racing bucket seats (Corbeau) and want to avoid triggering the airbag light on the dash .
Do I need to disconnect the battery first? If so do I need to know the radio key code first?
Once I've taken the seats out and fitted the buckets (I've bought the seat base adapters from Design911) will the air bag light be triggered the moment I reconnect the battery?
Some folks say you don't need to disconnect the battery as long as you don't have the key in the ignition during removal.
Any solid advice would be most welcome.
Thanks

From what I remember when I did it, you just need the ignition off.
Then unbolt the seat & unplug the electrical connectors from the base of the seat.
Are you keeping the 3 point belt? If so you can just transfer the buckle onto the new seat frame & re-plug it. I did that & had no problems with warning lights.
