New Sterophonics Album...
Discussion
I'm sure there must be some 'Phonics fans on here somewhere.
Here's what I think of the new album (can't remember the title):
It rocks.
Let me say that again:
It rocks.
Until now, I'd never really say the Sterophonics rocked, as in properly rocked... But this time I mean they rock in crotch-stuffing, head-banging kind of way.
I've never really liked the 'Phonics before, but the new album really is a breath of fresh air. Whilst all the other British bands are going the way of Feeder (on a descent into downtempo, dreary and depressing nothingness), they've gone off in completely the opposite direction! Hurray!
Even if you don't really like the Sterophonics, the new album is worth checking out on Monday! My only problem is that it's a bit on the short side (like me... oooh errr)!

sterophonics previous album JEEP was definatly a bit lame, loved the earlier stuff thousand trees is a great track along with bouncy stuff like tramps vest, even the slower stuff like traffic was good. I got into them after seeing them live at a festival and they rocked there too.
This album sounds much like there old stuff, gonnna try and catch them live again

I quite like new Doves album, been in the car for a week.
Am I the only one on this planet that finds them extremely dull!
Apart from the Phonics new album can anyone suggest anything else that's newish and good.
Please no Bravery, Franz flippin Ferdinand or other flavour of the month muppets!
Anyone heard the Delays?

I'm a major fan, met them twice when they signed their first two albums for me (their best so far IMO). Not been a fan of their newer stuff but Dakota is really good and I'm chuffed they've finally got to number one with it! Thanks for the heads-up on the new album, I'll be first in line Monday morning to get it!

Wouldn't agree with that personally… what about "Vegas Two Times"….??! …. "Madame Helga" and a large proportion of the "Performance and Cocktails" album….
Saw them live last year… top… and loud.
Definitely one of the better live acts… Not heard their latest single… better go and download it and have a listen

Long standing fan here
Ive really liked the whole sound of the new single for a while now, so if thats anything to go by, the album will be fantastic! ive pre-ordered the album (the 2 disc set - cd and dvd) with HMV, so i should have it on monday. Im really looking forward to it though!
I think in total i bought 4 copies of the single! just so i could get all the b-sides.
This is one cd that will go straight into the car!

I also find Doves very very dull.
Newish and good? It's got to be "Cast of Thousands" by Elbow. It is a work of genius. Easily in the top 5 albums of last year.
I like 'em.
The singer has a classic Welsh 'Grrr' and that song they did where the video seemed to ape scenes from 'Apocalypse Now' verged on the momentous.
I'm sad to see the poodle haired drummer has gorn orf somewhere which is a shame because he struck me as a right character, a bit like a potentially violent Lincolnshire farmer (quietly, amongst the most psychotic Englishmen around.)
They are brilliant musicians and scribe exceptional tunes - genuine, sublime brilliance.
Come to think of it, contemporary musak is looking a little healthier at the mo, there is much really quite decent young blood laying it down, man, as it were.
The Abe Lincoln vid is the best thing I've seen in years!
