Carpal Tunnel or something else?

I keep getting a dull pain in my thumb joint (basically where the thumb meets the hand)
No real numbness to speak of just a dull ache, which turns into quite a sharp pain when I pick things up.

No notable pain anywhere else.

Anyone had similar symptoms?

Doesn't sound like CTS. I'd get some tests done though.

I have a similar problem with my left hand. I'm almost certain it is due to iPhone use as I tend to hold my phone in my left hand and use my thumb on the screen and home button.

I had similar and ending up having a trapezectomy (sp) which sorted it
