As anticipated the problem with the Tasmin (280i) front brakes was a seized piston in the nsf caliper. Both calipers are now on their way to Bigred. While I'm waiting for them to come back I'll order in some new pads. Can someone tell me the Mintex or Ferodo part number please? Or tell me what to ask for at the local factors? Eg. Granada, Cortina etc?

Do the pads look like this... P16 caliper?

A very common caliper/pads used by Ford, MG, Triumph, TVR and probably others?

Get yourself a spacer kit and some vented discs wink

They should be Granada Mk2. Take an old one with you?

I think the Mintex 1144 part number is MGB633 for the standard Tasmin calipers. The 390SE's used the larger Granada 2.8i estate calipers which take larger pads even though the actual piston size is the same.

Looking at the spec sheet for MGB 633, these look like the ones I have.

Do the pins and anti-rattle plates come with the pads or do I need to order these separately?

The Mintex 1144's are brilliant, great "bite" and I couldn't get them to fade BUT... use plenty of copaslip on the anti-squeal shims otherwise they do squeal a lot!
