50s Rolex (very Small)
Discussion
We were lying in bed last Sunday and i was browsing TZ SC as you do, i clicked on a sale for a Rolex Oysterdate from the 50s straight away the wife said i do like that, she liked it even more when i said its was the size of her Tudor ladies Sub. I duly purchased it and it was delivered on Wednesday. After the unwrapping i have to say it is a really pretty watch in fantastic condition running strong with great time keeping. It as been serviced. I fully wound it to see what the power reserve was like, spec from new, state 58hrs, its just stopped after 53hrs and its 40sec fast not to shabby. The movement is the robust 1215 with the roulette date wheel (black & red). I do not know how guys in the 50s wore such small watches. What do you think guys

It's like comparing cars from yesteryear, modern diving stuff just seems so ott on wrists.
Having quite thin wrists I actually prefer the smaller watches of old and wish they would feature in modern ranges, sadly they only seem to make smaller watches for females these days.

There seems to be an obsession with people putting garish dinner plate sized watches on their wrists. I guess it helps their office mates to see the all important Rolex logo...
