Just wondering about all the money..

Last year there was 532000 students in higer education paying I guess £9000 a year and that adds up to a LOT of money! I know most of it is student loans that will most likely not be paid back but where does the rest go?

Appologies, assuming say 50% of the money goes back to the government I guess they just use this to fund the other 50% taken in student loans and any surplus gets wasted

That's almost 5 billion - not 5 million.

Probably not.

Oxford uni alone costs a little over 1.2 billion per year to run.
