So it's time for the discussion about dates for the Bristol Curry.

Obviously I vote for a Tuesday, and the 22nd or 29th are fine. But AFAIK (unless the wife has plans she's not told me about) I'm free pretty much any day those weeks.

>>>But... the clocks go forward before the 29th, so we could have a drive out... (Not that I've got a severely underused 7 in the garage)

mmmm curry

Whenever - I'm free both weeks.

{edited to add:} I know most of you lot are busy on the 20th (Sunday) but I have a spare seat for VMax going begging if any of you are up for it.

{edit no. 2:} VMax space now spoken for.

Thursday definitely better for me... Means I don't have to ferry my girl around. We could maybe try out that curry house out Cleeve way that's in a converted petrol station.

Should be OK for any of those dates.

Drive out sounds good as well. If people don't want to do curry, I've recently been to a pub that does a Desperate Dan stylee mixed Grill out past Chew Valley Lakes (The Blue Bowl? in West Harptree).

29th good for me too. Blue Bowl is not bad - been there recently and, Daz is right: the food is huge. Nowhere near the standard of the Carpenters Arms though....

Mind you, the call of the curry is a strong one!

Mechsympathy: are you looking for volunteers to look after your poor 7 whilst you are away?

Thanks for the selfless offer, but I think it's going over the summer. When we get back I want something I can commute in, especially as Claire is happy to do the practical estate thing

Actually thursday would be better for me too, considering my last lecture (before holidays) finishes at midday on the tuesday it might be a bit tight getting back in time (or at all).

I know a chap who commutes in a 7. What's your excuse?

Quite! I think the term "lightweight" is appropriate here and it's not with reference to the Caterham 7...

And who is a cheeky farkar??

The main problem is that one of the car parks I have to use is attached to a cinema/bowlplex type place (think Cribbs, but without the class). That and commuting in traffic puts me off using it. So there

We'll see what happens next month when I replace the scooby with a landrover

Cribbs? Class?

Took my girlfriend bowling at the place next door to your delightful emporium at the weekend, and I have to say the inbred cretin quotient was off the scale...

Indeed. I had a local in a Nova trying to 'race' me when leaving the cinema in Cribbs.

I didn't even see the boost gauge rise above vacuum.

I'm not surprised at all, there is a McDs there.

MAM - I went there for a Christmas party, I couldn't wait to get finished as the whole place was rammed with drunk teenagers. It was truly grim.

Working in Bristol for a few months so I'm in.. Prefer a pint and a curry this time around unless anyone has a spare seat in something interesting for a run out as the TVR is off for another nose job and the replacement tank is somewhat agricultural..

Whereabouts will you be based? I'm sure one of the usual suspects will have a spare seat if a run out is on the cards...

Got to be Tuesday for me - overnight in Huddersfield (grim) to look forward to on the Thursday.

Mind you, someone else will be providing free so it is not all bad
