V8V-S Brake Pad Recommendation - Fast Road Use?
Discussion
I'm shortly going to have to change the rear brake pads on my '14 SP10 as they're getting quite thin. The rear pads have actually worn more than the fronts - something I'm reliably informed is due to the efforts of the traction control system. Is that in-line with other owners' experience?
Before I buy OEM pads, I wanted to ask if anyone could recommend a 'better' pad for brisk road duty? Whilst the braking performance of the OEM pads seems very good for road use, they don't appear to last very well (my car's only done just over 11,000 miles) and they do produce a huge amount of dust. If I could find a pad that offers similar performance but lasts longer and produces less dust, I'd be delighted. If the braking performance was also improved, then we'd really be on to a winner and (whilst the fronts don't really need to be changed for a while yet) it might be worth changing all four corners at once.
As far as I'm aware, the pads for the SP10 are the same as those for the V8-S. Can anyone confirm this?
Any replies, recommendations and first-hand experiences of non-OEM pads in use, very gratefully received!

Mine has now done 18000 miles and rears are also nearly gone. Fronts have loads left so this is consistent with your wear pattern due to DSC use of rears. Always have the option of turning it off but I'm not sure I have the talent for that with winter coming. No experience of other pads but there have been threads in the past on this subject. I'm sure the SP10 brakes are the same as "normal" V8VS which are now same on standard V8V since 2012.25 MY AFAIK.
Hi Ian
I looked for alternatives about a year ago and found none. At the time EBC said that they would produce some 'yellow stuff" pads when demand for the 6 pot fronts increased. Their website is now showing rears as available and fronts as ...contact us....

In my experience on rally cars EBC pads generally have much reduced dusting, are resistant to fade but tend to wear the rotors more. I've not had a problem with the standard Pagits except lots of dust.
William Welch is running Portesfield pads on his GT4 spec Vantage and seems happy with them.
I'd be interested in how you get on with this .
Cheers
