Brake pads worn rang audi specialist and man said car will be okay to drive home but will be a slight knocking (spain to england) dont about 250 mile and the knocking has got alot worse and sounds like a train, any ideas? How much damage will it do as we have about 1000 mile to go or do we stop to try get it fixed?

Is it just the brake pads? I'm sure you could find a garage local to wherever you are who can fit a set of pads. Language barrier should not be a problem. You know how much you would expect to pay in the UK, it might work out cheaper in Spain.

I would not want to be doing a long drive home with questionable brakes. Speak to someone. Use Google. You will find a place to replace your pads.

theye worn and someone diagnosed over the phone?

sounds like you need to have the wheels off and have a look or pay someone to look at it , could probably get the pads and tools from a motor spares shop and diy in the car park
