Curved warning light lens

After removing the lens cover and cleaned up the dash it was glued in with a very rubbery stick to anything mastic but will only clean up with white spirit which makes it very hard to get a clean finish, I would rather use something else to get a nicer finish than the way it was. Anybody done it and what did yo use black lens light blue / grey dashboard?

My curved warning light Lens is broken and needs replacing, I have read on here somewhere and can believe it that these are not much use anyway as they break easily and more to the point end up hiding the lights so much that you cannot see them illuminated unless it's dark.
For a convertible driven on sunny days that could be an issue.
Sorry for going slightly off topic but before you spend a lot of time cleaning it up you may want to see how well it functions.
I am waiting to see what other options there are.
My warning lights are exposed at the moment, can see them well, but they look a mess...

First check out how many redundant warning lamps you have!
Then consider making your own curved strip from smoked perspex or aluminium, drilled for the appropriate number of warning lampholders, obtainable via Car Builder Solutions. They even supply decals.

That's what I was thinking of doing, thanks for the lead to CBS, good site that

I spent 4 hours cleaning the black mastic off dash and cover I think they used tiger mastic.
I will take a template from the cover refit and make one as suggested, I will check out that site.
