Hi, Stuck in france with a car that wont start. its a 500 preserp fitted with a Gemini alarm.

yesterday car wouldnt turn over just the lights on the dash flashing. thought the battery was flat but it shows 12.8v. tried to get a jump start but still the same. thought battery connections might be bad so disconnected them and cleaned them with emery cloth, reconnected and the alarm went off, tried using blipper but made no difference. had to disconnect battery to stop alarm. removed alarm howler under bonnet and found a couple of wires chaffing. repaired them and reconnected battery, alarm went off again. indicators are continually flashing. Alarm reset itself after a while but indicators still flashing and car wont turn over or bump start. has anybody got any knowledge with removing alarm as i need to drive home. i prefer to take of alarm completely as i never use it.

thanks, Alex

when i push button on blipper nothing happens, the blipper light comes on but car does nothing, usually the door locks operate and the alarm sets..

thats why i think alarm has gone faulty...

I'd give Carl a ring. he is a nice guy and may be able to help with pulling the alarm out.

Thanks for info, managed to sort it out.. Car battery showed 12.8v but failed under load. Fitted new battery but alarm still on, garage managed to find a new battery for fob and alarm turned off and now locks and unlocks doors. Car started first time, now on ferry coming back after a nice 3 hour drive from Soissons ...

Will definately remove alarm as i never use it and already have a cobra immoboliser fitted for insurance..

Still need a diagram for removal of Gemini 1002 alarm

Thanks , Alex
