My dear old mum gave me a Birthday card with £100 in cash and was firmly told not to use it for bills, bus fare, petrol etc.

Normally cash would go in my wallet and be used up on day to day expenses.

So I'm about to be 54, do love tech, cars and motorbikes, what does the PH massive think I should treat myself to?

Use £100 to purchase an Amazon gift card of the same value from supermarket of your choice, then buy something frivolous from Amazon?

Quadcopter or hooker.

Both if you don't mind shopping at the budget end of the market.

Get yourself to a posh wine-merchant and enjoy 1 or 2 bottles of wine only.

That is a good idea but she doesn't live in this country. Might cost a bit more than £100. Liking the quadcoptor idea.

Have a browse around the nearest charity shop, see if they have any nice furniture for sale? I got a decent old bookcase for about £100 recently that would have been considerably more when new, and previously picked up an older desk as well for about £50. Granted, I'm still quite new into my house and needing furniture, but its a darn site better than anything from IKEA etc.

Another good idea, cheers. Loads of charity and antique shops around here. Ta

You can do the same on eBay, second hand furniture goes for next to nothing. I should know, it's how I dispose of any furniture we replace! Few weeks ago I sold a full Mamas and Papas nursery set, 3 years old and about £700 when new, for £93.

Lego. The only answer to this question is Lego. All other answers are null.

Yup, the 42000 grand prix racer is another 4 inches longer, but out of production sadly (its awesome though, i have mine converted to ferrari livery)

I also modded the 24hr racer to looks more modern LMP1 like (big fin on the back, rebuilt cockpit and nose, lower rear body work)
