Borrowng parts from other Manufacturers

Hi guys,

Just a casual post. I am fascinated by cars that have borrowed parts from other manufactures. For example, the XJ220's Rover rear lights, Chimaera's Fiesta rear lights, Noble's Mondeo parts etc.

I was just wondering how many parts from the TVR Wedge (ideally the 350i, as that's what I'm familiar with) that you can think of that have been 'borrowed'.

Renault Fuego rear lights
Triumph TR7 switches?

Interior door handles are Allegro/Marina ??
and those bloody ashtrays - Porsche/ De Lorean was it ?

This is why I always tend to think of Wedges and earlier TVRs as kit cars....

Steering column = TR7 + switchgear then Ford Orion.
Heater control V6 = Ford Escort
Sun visors = Ford Capri
Brake servo = Capri mk2
Bonnet release cable = MG
V8 electric mirror internals = Saab
Wiper arm = Sherpa LDV..Fiesta rear wiper..Mondeo rear wiper.
Square headlights = Mini metro.
Petrol cap = British classic motorcycle.
Fuel filler hose = Tanker filling hose/Aircraft
Bonnet struts = Ford capri tailgate

Front brake discs/calipers - Ford (Granada 2.8?)

Oh come on, I'm sure we can all name HEAPS of clone cars which are just rebadged or rehashed versions of others.....
It's not really quite the same as spotting TVR parts sources !!

Out here in antipodes, several of the Mazdas also have Ford badges, and Opel/Vauxhall/Holden are pretty much interchangeable,
We get a 'Holden Astra' for example. UK gets the Vauxhall VXR V8 (name?) which is an Aussie built Holden Commodore, which is also a Chevy SS in the states.

I don't know if it's quite as obvious in UK today (I've been away a long time), but it's always been an obvious petrolhead topic of conversations here... The Ford Zetec is still "Oh, yeah, the Mazda Engine.." Here in NZ.

In addition to all the above:
Capri and renault Fuego rear lights, sherpa front lights, De lorean ash trays (!!), metro seat belt guides, TR7 and Vitesse steering columns, Ford front calipers (2.8i estate on the 390's, 2.0 Granada on the 350is), TR7 headlamp motors, Capri door handles, Fiesta Mk 1 bonnet catches.

I'll think of some more later when I need an excuse to escape from "her" family......
