Last week was supposed to be very hot too, but it didn't happen here in the Chilterns.

The rain looks like it will clear quite quickly if it's any consolation.

Went from 18 to 31 degrees in the space of an hour and a half this morning in New Maldon. It's dropped a bit now to 29 degrees.

Very pleasant but it's not unusual. When I moved South to live 26 years ago it was roasting hot in September followed by being knee deep in snow that same winter.
