Bought my hitachi 42" in 2003 and its been great but has had a clicking sound for a while which I have no idea how to fix. Have fiddled about a bit but I have no real knowledge of such things .
Is it worth fixing for use in another room? I will be replacing it as a main TV. Do people buy these things? Should I just dump it?
No hdmi and the gubbins are in a seperate box rather than integrated. Plus I've chased in all the wiring so will be a hassle getting it all out!
Any advice appreciated. Cheers

I have a Hitachi plasma that's a similar age, a PD5200 if my memory's OK.

Long story', but in short fixed it with a new capacitor for less than £5 in parts and a bit of soldering - still working about six years on when I was on the point of throwing it out.

I have a Pioneer Plasma PDP435-XDE 43 inch HD ready plasma. The picture is brilliant and I just can't get myself to get rid of it. I had paid £3k for it many years ago. Any good ideas of where it would be loved? If anyone on here knows how good they are and wants to make me a decent offer then please PM me.

I picked one of these up for £100 on eBay to replace my one which the power supply had packed up. Means I've got a spare media unit incase that ever fails.

Yes they are great. Far better picture than some current day sets but could go bang tomorrow.

I would keep it if I were you or just accept you had your use out of it.

I sold my 50" version for about £200 on ebay a while back.

It's never skipped a beat. I may just keep it a bit longer!

Well, the new TV is arriving today. I figure I've had 13 years out of the old plasma so will be dumping that. Seems a bit of a waste but I can't be arsed trying to fix it. Our disposable attitudes have kicked in!

At least we are keeping people in work.

I usually put stuff like this on Ebay at 99p, collection only.

I'm amazed on occasions how much people are prepared to pay for my old crap.
