I was browsing on a Porsche GT owners forum the other day and they were talking about 4 track days a year on average.

I'm not a M Power owner or even M Sport, but wondering how many track days you get out of your car? I've always imagined that M owners were a more track hungry bunch, so thinking above 4 could be achievable.

Thanks

My F10 M5 has probably averaged 4 a year in the 2yrs i've had her, both UK & Europe.

Although an extremely capable car on track, the consumables (tyres, pads & discs) take a hammering & i've killed a set of rear pads in a single track day (Donington). Decided earlier this year that the value of the consumables used on the M5 would more than cover the purchase, upgrade & running of a more track focussed car so acquired with a friend a Clio 172 Cup Sport which although slower is actually a real blast on track & can put in some decent lap times.

To put it into context, an average UK track day would see me consume 2 full tanks of fuel at close to £100 per fill, the Clio will so a full day on a single tank of fuel at a cost of £40-45.

4 track days and 2 Ring trips each year.

Petrol, pads, tyres are the biggest expense - after the trackday/lap tickets/accommodation of course.

Used to do 12 a year in my e34 M5, but it was costing me about £1000 a day when I calculated everything.

In my E46 m3 which has been half stripped out, half cage and Recaro pole positions about 10 a year. Consumables are not breaking the bank, Csl discs at £300/pair, pagid rs29s £220/pair and federal 595 RSRs at £80 each.

I see more M3s at track days than Porsches within the last year possibly due to their ever increasing Porsche values especially the GT models.

My last track day at Snetterton had only one Porsche present, a 911 991 GT3 RS. With an estimated value of circa £200k that was in my mind a very brave and well insured owner!

Spa and Silverstone have a much higher Porsche presence.

Only managed a couple this year...so far. Usually do one every couple of months. Sadly you don't see many E30 M3 on track anymore as too many owners are obsessed with value.
