Good Morning,

I'm hoping to pick the brains of some knowledgeable VAG owners. I have a 2003 Ibiza 1.4 tdi. When i bought it the AC wasnt working very well so i had it re-gassed (vcds showed low gas). It worked fine for about a month but would make a hiss or whistling sound intermittently.

The AC is back to how it was now (not cold) so i assume i have a leak somewhere. However, i just wanted to be sure because i also have some fault codes thrown up by vcds about the temperature and re-circulation motors. I do not have any fault codes for low ac gas. I was wondering if the ac is working fine but the temp control motor is making it not go to its coldest setting.

I did some googling and its mentioned that the hissing noise is a broken ac compressor. Before i change it would like to be sure that's the fault without having to take it to a garage as they are painfully expensive here.

Have anyone experienced this before and can point me in the right direction?

Fault codes from VCDS below
01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
01596 - Motor for Outside/Recirculated Air Flap (V154)
