The end of income support.
Those so disabled that they cannot work-ie 1/3 of those currently on incapacity/disability benefit should receive more money the rest Zero.
Unemployment benefit will be only paid to those with a work history and will be higher than present-those who haven't built up a contribution history get zero.
Housing benefit will be ended- As a phased withdrawel.
New Hostels will be created to replace it either by building new ones or modifying existing state housing-there those who need it will receive food and shelter.
Using some of the money released by this the state pension will be made more generous the rest paid out in tax cuts.
Those who cannot find work will be employed by the state at the minimum wage-and put to some productive task.

A shift in emphasis to one of positive forward thinking in the Commons rather than the current slagging off based on historic records. You can't affect what has gone, just leave it and improve what you can.
A tax regime which encourages entrepreneurial activity, business, environmental sustainability, the most efficient means of transport (cars) and the infrastructure required.
Look to ring fence tax where possible. I.e. roads from VED and petrol so each individual pays in relation to their own usage.

Unfortuantly the treasury is now dependent on Motoring taxes and I think only spends 1 pound in every 8 raised back on the roads.
I think we should keep things at today's level on environmental grounds-Just not increase motoring taxes any further.

Unemployment benefits to remain as they are. For the long-term unemployed > 6 months (say) there should be a form of community service where "benefit" would be earned but increased. Those who do not participate (when capable) to have benefits removed.
Abolish early release schemes but make it easier to extend sentences in the event of further bad behaviour inside.
The possibility for young, persistant offenders about to go to jail to be allowed into the armed forces instead of jail, obviously they would be jailed should they fail basic training etc.
A return of debtors prisons, ie no more paying £10 a month out of benefits if people can't pay fines. Fines should be the same for everyone, if they can't be paid people should be able to work off the debt.
The realisation that people can spend money better than the government, therefore the NHS to be redefined as an emergency service for most and a safety net for the poorest members of society. NI should be reduced but people who do not invest the money saved into private health care will be billed for any treatment which the NHS supplies.
A sensible state pension for those who have paid into the system all their lives and expect one, however there should be no expectation of a state pension into perpetuity with the intention that people should make their own arrangements. Also, stop the disgusting practice of forcing OAP's to sell their houses to pay for residential care.

I'll second that! And stop companies that are already making oodles of money from making people 'redundant' - only to send the work abroad because it's cheaper labour.
