Far to nice to be a banger but at £780 that's what it is. The cheapest car I've purchased in a long time. Just got it yesterday and It's sitting on my parents drive at the mo as I couldn't get it and the misses car back home with only me to drive.

Usual trade advert saying car is mint, etc so went with the usual expectations that the car would be ok but not perfect. How wrong can you be!. Pictures below from the advert, the car is as good as the pictures suggest. In light metallic green its great colour and thankfully not silver!. The Car is 1 Owner from new, with Full Service history, 69k on the clock last serviced at 67k when it was fitted with 4 new Avon tyres and treated to a Oil/Filter change / break fluid flush/Change. Drove about 10 miles on the test on speed bumps and fast roads (90 leptons) and all drove perfect no rattles , squeaks or other odd noises). In fact the only issue I can find is the Aerial has been snapped off. So that needs replacing . Interior looks like its never been sat in, especially the back , Boot carpet is like new, Spare tyre and tool kit look to have never been touched.

Ridiculous bargain - assuming that it is all as good as it looks.

So far looks to be time will tell, but No pin dents, or scratches on the bodywork at all, Small repair on the NS rear arch but can only be seen if your looking for it . Interior looks like new

Question for anyone that may know, I'd like to add an AUX/USB or similar for music, I've searched but nothing really available specifically for this so would a Parrot or similar kit be my best bet?

Looks a pretty decent one! I've had three now and generally found them to be good cars (my current Aero has turned into a bit of a money pit, but mainly because I was looking for faults and replacing things just because....) and cheap to keep on the road, only fuel and road tax being a bit expensive. If you don't already know, a noobtune map can increase these to about 225bhp for less than £100.
I replaced the CD player with an Alpine double DIN unit which wasn't a difficult job, just involved a bit cutting to fit.

I almost bought an 02 3 door Aero HOT about 3 yrs ago that a dealer was selling for £1.2k but my heart went with an Alfa GTV V6 (you know the who noise/looks/it's an Alfa thing) - it supposedly had FSH and only 100k on the clock & was stupidly cheap IMO. Saabs are still generally underrated/valued by the trade which suits me just fine as I'm on my second (now an 07 9-3 Sportwagon TID) that's just about to turn 149k today. I'm wondering when all the cheap/lowish mileage Saabs have gone in a few years what I'll be driving?!

.
Thats interesting, and I dont need the car daily so sending off the ECU not to much of an issue, I must admit after coming from the clk320 the 2.0 turbo felt rather slow by comparison.

There are 2 versions - the low pressure turbo and the regular turbo. As well as eco and viggan which are less common in this country. Have you got LPT ?

From memory, he quotes just under a working week for turnaround, still to send mine off, alternatively you can send him another ECU (same part no.) and the codes printed on yours and do it that way, he can be found on the UKSaabs website - which I'd recommend joining for the wealth of info there!
I'd assume it's an LPT you have, B205E at the start of the engine code and 150bhp so won't set the world alight but decent enough for daily pottering.
Another couple of recommendations, look into whether the sump has been dropped (they sludge up though there is a fix) and if you do the remap then I'd think about buying a steering rack brace, helps stop the bulkhead ripping itself apart and reduces torque steer a bit.

Nice buy! See my Thread on running my £750 '99 Vert:

I have also detailed all my costs over the past two years in my Garage, there has been the occasional big bill, but bearing in mind I have covered about 22k miles in two years it is well within tolerances
