Hi all,

I have a 996 TT and the standard comfort seats destroy my dodgy back, so looking for suitable alternatives. Previous car was a gt3 with fixed back bucket seats and they were awesome. Ordinarily, I'd just find another set and install accordingly in the TT. However, I now have twins and therefore need access to the back.

If anybody has any good ideas, pless let me know.

Interior is grey. Would like seats to 'fit' , I.e look the part, leather as per existing and gt3 buckets. Not sure whether black seats would look ok in grey interior..? Anyway, any ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Sports seats were the other option on 996t. I never liked them, I'm not that broad across my shoulders but found the sports seats way to narrow to be comfortable. The comfort seats were fine.
Could you graft 997 seats in?

The obvious answer seems to be the Porsche folding buckets but they were made I think for 987/997 and are very pricey.

As you say the 996 GT3 seats would fit a 996 turbo, but I wouldn't be happy getting a child in and out.

The Sports Seats were an option on the 996 turbo (but don't the electrical adjustment) and some people with broad shoulders have trouble getting comfortable in them. I had this problem with the same type fitted to my 993 C4.

You could try the 997 GT2/3 folding seats.

Or maybe some standard 997 Sports Seats.

Design 911 have some aftermarket GT3 type which recline but I'd want to ensure they were type approved.
