Rolex 'Homage' Watch Identification....

In a meeting earlier in the week I noticed one of the participants had an interesting looking piece on his wrist. I'm not that au fait with Rolex but it looked like a Submariner to me. The brand looked like it was two letters; something like Gc or Ge. I had already had enough of trying to argue via a translator so didn't take the opportunity to ask him what it was.

Just wandered if the collective on here would have any ideas from my embarrassingly poor description?

They don't match your two letter description however Steinhart, Davosa and Tiger all make watches that are clearly Rolex/Submariner based. Christopher Ward (CW) have dive watches in their range though I personally wouldn't say they're much like a Sub.
