ELAL with extra ground security at Frankfurt?

I flew out of Frankfurt this morning and saw an ELAL aircraft parked at one of the terminal 1 gates, the whole stand was roped off and there were police all around along with an armoured police truck (looked like a bigger version of a ferret). There were just 2 guys loading it from a conveyor with what looked like normal baggage, no other ground vehicles were nearby.

It just got me curious, as I would have thought if it was diplomatic or currency etc.. it would be at a more desecrate location at the airport?

I thought this was fairly standard for El Al flights. I once lingered in a particular spot for ages at Schoenefeld because I thought I was going to see a water arch made for an aircraft to taxi through. It turned out the Police water cannon vehicle thing was just parked next to the El Al aircraft while it was on stand. I've seen the odd one parked somewhere a bit remote on an airport with guards as well.

Years ago at Vienna, waiting for my flight to take off, I saw a helicopter with a couple of door gunners check the hedgerows at the edge of the runway before an El Al flight lander, which was then escorted to its stand by 3 armoured cars. Thought it was a bit OTT.

El Al always have extra security around their aircraft, and they also have no cabin access to the cockpit either.

They pay quite a lot for their security for sure
