Just another muttering about a well known internet auction
Discussion
So I advertise an old hi fi stereo system, with advertised faults, collection only, and cheap (£35).
No takers first time around.
Second time around I get a bid from Spain just as the thing finishes.
So I ask when they are coming to collect..
No answer just a payment of £35 to Paypal.
It would cost more to sent to the ebay sorting place than £35
And if they cannot read Collection Only what else have they not understood.
I give up selling on that site. Better of at a car boot sale.
Mini rant over and no swearing....

Also, don't use Paypal for collection only. Cash in hand
I find ebay a little over complicated and frustrating at times and I don't always get what I intendAlso, I've had a few occassions where people have said they'll pay cash then not turn up, I'm then out of pocket with the sellers fee

I've never used eBay in my life so apols is silly question.... Surely it's as simple as either he claims the money back or you're up £25 ??
Just looked at my paypal account, there's the opportunity to refund, not sure about reclaiming a selling fee.Re keeping the money: I'm not like that
Selling is a pain in the arse, 50% of the time I've had to put up with idiots and time wasters etc.
There's ways to protect yourself a bit but you wouldn't think you'd have to - e.g. Once I sold an item via Buy it now but didn't choose the option to require immediate payment, the buyer then claimed her child did it and then refused to correspond any further, meaning hassle with eBay to get refunded fees etc.

I didn't find it that much of a hassle when I had to go through the process recently, though I'd agree it's a ballache trying to sell it againThere's ways to protect yourself a bit but you wouldn't think you'd have to - e.g. Once I sold an item via Buy it now but didn't choose the option to require immediate payment, the buyer then claimed her child did it and then refused to correspond any further, meaning hassle with eBay to get refunded fees etc.
I had this once with some car parts I sold, I stated collection only and the winning bidder was from abroad. After he had paid me he asked if I would post to wherever he lived (poland I think). I simply replied being polite but saying no, collection only as per listing and I never heard from him again, he never claimed his money back either.
I still have the parts sitting in the shed, they have moved house with me twice now, I still don't want them but keep forgetting to put them up on ebay again!

to sell you have to select PayPal as an option.
I have just sold a tow bar bike rack. Payment made via paypal which isn't a problem, sent msg to advise when they would like to collect. No answer as of yet.
Then they collect, open a despite saying they never received the item, PayPal side with them as you can't prove it was sent and you're suddenly down your item and your money I have just sold a tow bar bike rack. Payment made via paypal which isn't a problem, sent msg to advise when they would like to collect. No answer as of yet.
