SportAuto 911 Turbo S 347 kmph

It appears that SportAuto has done 347kmph (about 215.6mph) in a standard 991.2 Turbo S, on the autobahn. That's quite fast!!

Clearly it is not in competition with a Chiron but it is a significant margin over the claimed top speed and, for a daily driver, it is mental.

I would have thought the 991TS could reach that speed easy as i got 198mph from my old 996T.

Wow. Ran against a 991.2 turbo S at VMAX a few days ago and it ran 183 mph over 1.5 miles.

I'm surprised a 215mph capable car could only manage 183 mph in 1.5 miles tbh so there may well be something different abut the Sport Auto turbo S (i.e. maybe Porsche tuned press car or the speedo is faulty). Lots of cars that were running way quicker than the 991.

Whilst impressive that is dash speed. Did they actually post the true gps since they had a Vbox on the screen? Probably about 206gps.

I did 183 (from memory) in my S65 AMG barge at VMax.. That sounds awfully slow for a 991 TS..!

In real life? The Chiron driver first needs to find the special key that allows him/her to actually access full speed...

It looks like it was recorded on a slight decline so is a "real" (according to them) 334kph (about 207.5mph).

Not a GPS to be fair and a hair's fart over 200mph but I am calling 201 indicated

At Fight Torque in 2007 my GT3 was actually quicker than the standard 996 turbo from a standing start over 3/4 mile. It also ran the same time as the 997 GT3 and beat it when side by side. It did go really well to be fair, such an easy car to launch, less easy to get stopped from that speed at speed and it did move a little on the road as I recall.

Raced circa 10 different 991 turbo S. Both tuned to 650bhp and not tuned. Same result everytime. They run into a brick wall at 150mph. Not sure why. Very quick up to 150mph
