btw that's 'gypo' as-in 'pikey',not romany jypsy.
at 2140 i was sitting here at work doing my usual business of watching the cctv monitors and what should pull into the carpark? well i'll tell you...it was a dodgy looking waton freight services transit pick-up with 3 occupants inside.
why was it dodgy? the transit had no lights on as it pulled into the carpark.....reason enough.
so i tracked the van on camera as it circled the loading area of the company opposite us (mhs heating supplies)as the van pulled up the 2 passengers got out,walked up to a strapped pallet that had been left outside (god knows why mhs do it but they do),cut the straps off and then they loaded the stuff onto the van as quickly as possible....at this point i was already in contact with the 999 controller and giving descriptions,reg number,etc....when they finished loading the stuff off the pallet they then started throwing pallets,metal and anything else they coulds grab onto the flatbed whilst the driver was keeping a look-out....not knowing that i was watching them all and relaying everything to the controller at the end of the phone.
after a few more minutes of loading their illgotten gains the driver got back in and turned the transit around (lights still off),the passengers opened a couple of cupboards and emptied their contents into the back,then both passengers got in (the van was already moving,still without lights) and they took off towards burnt mills road,not knowing that their actions were still being relayed to the controller and forwarded on to ground units that were already dispatched (according to the controller anyway).
after i put the phone down i contacted our monitoring section,they said they were watching and couldnt believe how blatant they were but they added that i got excellent shots of their faces,their clothing,their van and what they did and all of this was stored on harddrive for the police to have if they require it.....i then went out for a ciggy (as you do) and all we (myself and our cleaner)could hear was police sirens blazing away fairly close to us.
hopefully these bastards have been nicked and it might just stop some other poor bugger getting their place/business robbed (for tonight anyway)

No!!! How can this be!!!!! I heard a 'spokesman' for the Gypsies/travellers on Jeromey Vine last week saying that all the Gypsies/travellers he knows are very clean, law abiding, pay their taxes and go to church every Sunday, and they are simply misunderstood and picked on!

I have zero tolerance of Pikeys, where they decide that the rules and the taxes that everyone else has to comply with do not apply to them.
And I become incandescent with rage when same pikeys try to use the same system that they choose to opt out of, exploiting it and manipulating it for their selfish ends.
Illegal camp sites where they pay no local taxes. Benefits fraud. Manual labour with no taxes paid, and an increase in localised crime.
It is easy to jump to assumptions that these were the kind of people first described in this thread. They may not have been.
But they are still symptomatic of the disease inside this country, and even this pretty liberal PH'er is thoroughly sick of it all.
Rural crime is going up and up. A local farm was robbed by people with knives the other day, the stolen equipment lobbed onto a stolen flatbed lorry, and the farmer and his wife and daughter left traumatised.
Did caravan dwelling scum do this? I don't care, but they are scum anyway, and the ability of the local plod to do much about it seems slight.
No-one seems bothered about these things anymore..

There are plenty of law abiding proper ancestral gypsies in this country. The film "Snatch" has done them as much help as the BNP has to blacks and muslims. There are also plenty of people who have been kicked out of evry council hovel they've ever inhabited so their only option is to become travellers. It's THESE people who need to be sorted out not proper gypsies who don't nick anything or cause trouble.
